
Carol Lynley, born Carole Ann Jones on February 13, 1942 and died September 3, 2019, was an American actress who was best famous for her roles in Blue Denim (1959), and The Poseidon Adventure (1972). Lynley was the daughter of an Irish father and a New England mother. Following her first professional venture as an actor, she was an infant model. She was awarded the Theatre World Award as "one of the most promising stars during 1956-57" for her performance in The Potting Shed. Lynley started her film career in 1958 by appearing in the Disney film The Light in the Forest, then followed by Holiday for Lovers (1959) and Blue Denim (1959). She was nominated in the year 1959 for the Golden Globe Award as Most Promising Female Newcomer - Female. She was also nominated for the Golden Globe Award again for Most Promising Youngcomer - Female the following year in the film Blue Denim.
